Psychotherapy Services
What is Psychotherapy and what can it do for you?
Psychotherapy is a process in which you and your provider will discuss a myriad of issues, events, experiences, and memories for the purpose of creating positive change so that you can experience your life more fully. It provides an opportunity to better and more deeply understand oneself, as well as any problems or difficulties you may be experiencing. Psychotherapy is a joint effort between you and your provider. Progress and success may vary depending upon the particular problems or issues being addressed, as well as many other factors.
Psychotherapy, and/or other behavioral consultation services are often indicated by research for both children and adults as part of an effective intervention strategy for treatment of a wide variety of emotional and behavioral difficulties. This may include various modalities of treatment such as Cognitive/Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic insight-oriented therapy, and Family Systems Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), as well as the cooperative developmental/modification of behaviorally based parenting strategies. Psychotherapy/consultation services are provided.
