Jonathan R. Kurtyka, Ph.D.

Clinical Neuropsychologist, Director of Clinical Services

Dr. Kurtyka is a Licensed Independent Clinical Psychologist in the great State of New Mexico. He is a graduate of Rutgers University where he completed his undergraduate training in Psychology, and Fairleigh Dickinson University where he received his Masters degree and completed his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Kurtyka also completed an APA pre-doctoral internship in Pediatric Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, as well as a two year post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology (NSNM/UNMH). Dr. Kurtyka has extensive experience spanning the last decade in providing comprehensive pediatric and adult clinical neuropsychological evaluation services, as well as psychotherapy, and professional consultation services.


Dr. Kurtyka specializes in the clinical neurocognitive assessment of developmental disorders, AD/HD, learning disabilities, TBI, dementia, epilepsy, and complex genetic conditions. Additionally, Dr. Kurtyka has specialty training and experience in K-12 Special Education (Public and Private School settings, IEP Team meetings, parent/student advocacy), & College-level accommodations (i.e., Collegiate classroom and SAT, ACT, LSAT, MCAT accommodations), as well as civil forensic and IME evaluations (Symptom/Performance Validity Testing, post-traumatic cognitive decline, adaptive functioning & social/emotional impairment). Dr. Kurtyka also has research experience in developmental disabilities/intellectual disability, learning disabilities, AD/HD, cognitive assessment (i.e., test construction/design/validation), traumatic brain injury, and pre-morbid functioning.

Ashley Twitty, LCSW

Psychotherapist
Clinical Services Coordinator

Ashley Twitty is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Ashley earned her Master’s in Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University, and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of New Mexico.


Ashley was born and raised in New Mexico, and is passionate about providing high quality mental health services to New Mexicans. She believes strongly in person-centered and strengths-based approaches to therapy and is committed to helping clients build skills and insight to improve their quality of life.


Ashley has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in various levels of care, including residential treatment facilities, treatment foster care, outpatient psychotherapy, and case management. Clinical areas of focus include treating anxiety, depression, attachment, ADHD, grief and loss, self-harm, trauma, family communication, emotional literacy, and life transitions.


Ashley’s clinical practice is informed by several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Additional specialized trainings include Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI); Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI); and Roots of Empathy emotional literacy curriculum.

Laura Adler, M.D.

ABPN Board Certified Psychiatrist
Medical Director

Dr. Adler grew up in the American Southwest. She completed her medical degree at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and completed a residency training in Psychiatry at New York University and Stanford. She is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).

Dr. Adler is experienced in treating a wide range of mental health complaints. Her practice philosophy embraces a whole person approach which includes thoughtful assessment and treatment interventions ranging from medication management to nutrition and behavioral interventions and referral to psychotherapy. She has special clinical expertise in anxiety and treatment resistant depression, student and professional mental health, psychiatric illness in patients with co-occurring medical illness and women's mental health.

Dr. Adler practices psychiatry by targeting all components of wellness including sleep, dietary and lifestyle interventions and working to strengthen important relationships, promote balance and self-care. In addition she provides evidence-based pharmacologic interventions when appropriate and makes referrals for psychotherapy as indicated. She has a special interest in student and professional mental health, including care for fellow physicians.

Natalie Foley, LCSW

Director of Clinical Therapy

Natalie Foley, Director of Clinical Therapy, joined SNBH in 2015. She is independently licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in the states of New Mexico and Utah. Natalie graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Evansville, and completed her Master's in Social Work from Saint Louis University, where she earned a clinical specialization in the family practice concentration.


Her experience includes providing services in various settings including outpatient, in-home, residential, and medical settings for children, adolescents, and adults who have struggled with ADHD, anxiety, bereavement/grief, chronic medical conditions, depression, developmental delays, eating disorders, executive functioning, family communication, life transitions and change, parenting, self-harm, suicidality, and trauma.

She has completed and applies several specialized, trainings in her work, including intensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) from Behavioral Tech - A Linehan Institute Training Company, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), executive functioning for both kids and adults, Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and conflict resolution/mediation. Natalie is committed to providing children, adolescents, and adults the skills they need to be more successful in their lives.

Kailey Wimberly Lopez, OTR/L

Kailey Wimberly Lopez is a licensed and registered Occupational Therapist practicing in New Mexico. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Relations from the University of New Mexico, and subsequently graduated with her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from Touro University Nevada.

Kailey enjoys working with children with a wide range of diagnoses and disabilities. She utilizes a variety of intervention techniques including behavioral, sensory, and occupational-based approaches. Kailey's interventional focus helps develop and strengthen fine and gross motor skill development, self-regulation, social skills development, executive functioning, and healthy eating habits. She also has experience working with adults in acute care settings and enjoys the novel challenges that present across the lifespan.
